Nesher, February 2021 – Tabor Electronics announces a new addition to the Proteus series product line – RF Arbitrary Waveform Generator / Transceiver. The series offers the highest Performance Direct Digital RF Generation and Acquisition and a complete control system with digitizer and feedback loop with the lowest latency available in the Industry.


In communications new transmission standards that fuel the next generation of connectivity, such as 5G, WiFi-6 and UWB, all rely on utilizing significant amounts of spectral bandwidth. Proteus is an ideal instrument for generating wideband signals up to 9GHz. With a sampling rate of 9GS/s and a Bandwidth of almost 9GHz - it allows the instrument to generate signals in multiple Nyquist Zones with very wide bandwidths. 



The Proteus is an answer for aerospace applications needing to perform real time data streaming and fast feedback loops with an environment dependent waveform generation. A four channel instrument can emulate four independent high-resolution target pulses to test the AI algorithm – as it’s an AWG it could also emulate FMCW modulation as well.

The new RF AWG/AWT has a built-in IQ modulator with advanced capabilities for multi-channel RF signal generation, with the ability to scale up to hundreds of synchronized channels. The system is based on a PXIe platform and enables you to transmit, receive and perform digital signal processing in a single instrument. 

The Proteus series offers an integrated Numerically Controlled Oscillator (NCO), digital interpolator, and IQ modulator for the generation of complex RF signals directly from the Proteus instrument. The internal digital-up-converter enables the direct generation of IQ modulation signals eliminating limitations such as IQ mismatch, and in-band carrier feed-through that is present with external IQ modulators and mixers.
